The place

Eldorado at Santa Fe is the large community south-east of the city off I-25, built on former ranch land with lots of an acre or more. It offers space, views of the Sangre de Cristo, Jemez, and Ortiz ranges, and a strong sense of community at a more accessible price than the north side.

What to love
  • Acre-plus lots and three-range views
  • Trails into the Galisteo Basin Preserve
  • A community center with pool, courts, and a strong volunteer culture
  • Value relative to the city’s north side
Character
Open, neighborly, and outdoorsy. Horses, dogs, and bicycles. A community center, a shopping center, and miles of trails.
Architecture
Pueblo-style homes from the 1970s through today, many passive solar, on lots that give every house its own horizon.
What you’ll find
Single-family homes on one to three acres, with a wide range of sizes and prices.
Lifestyle
Trail riding and hiking in the Galisteo Basin, the Eldorado Community Center, the Agora shopping center, and a calendar of community events.
Getting around
About fifteen minutes south-east of downtown via I-25 or Old Las Vegas Highway. Santa Fe County.
Who it suits
Buyers who want acreage and views without a Las Campanas budget, and families who value the community feel.
