Tesuque

A green valley village ten minutes north of the Plaza.

The place

Tesuque sits in the valley of the Tesuque Creek just north of Santa Fe, shaded by cottonwoods and ringed by the foothills. It is a village in the real sense: a market, a church, orchards, and homes on acreage that feel far from town while being closer than most of the city.

What to love
  • Cottonwoods, orchards, and acequia water in a high-desert city
  • Tesuque Village Market for breakfast
  • The Opera and Shidoni a few minutes away
  • Horses, privacy, and a real village feel
Character
Rural, lush by New Mexico standards, and quietly exclusive. Properties are large, often with water rights and old apple trees. The road winds, and that is the point.
Architecture
Historic adobe farmhouses, substantial Pueblo-style estates, and a few striking contemporary homes on the hillsides. Many properties include guest houses, studios, and barns.
What you’ll find
Estate properties on acreage, valley farmhouses, and hillside view homes. Inventory is limited, and homes often sell quietly.
Lifestyle
Tesuque Village Market, the sculpture gardens, the Opera a few minutes up the road, and hiking from Big Tesuque and Little Tesuque trailheads.
Getting around
North of Santa Fe along Bishop’s Lodge Road and Highway 285. Bordered by Tesuque Pueblo lands.
Who it suits
Buyers who want land, privacy, water, and trees, with Santa Fe close enough for dinner. Becky’s family roots are here, and she knows the valley road by road.
